Asbury Veteran: Art Bryson

Art Bryson enlisted in the United States Army in 1944 at the age of 17. Art was called to active duty in March of 1945 and was shipped to Camp Wheeler, Georgia for Infantry Basic Training. After 17 weeks of training and one month in a military hospital, Art was shipped to Germany and stationed in Munich, Germany.

Staff Sergeant Bryson was transferred to the U.S. Military Government, which after World War II, had the duty of governing the towns and cities of Germany.

Sergeant Bryson remembers most his experience as a witness for the U.S. Military in two German court cases, which proudly shares we won. Art also had the opportunity to spend one day at the Nuremburg War Crime Trials.

Art is especially proud that he and four of his brothers served in World War II. All five brothers returned home safely and they praise the Lord for their return. Staff Sergeant Bryson was discharged in November 1945.
